According to the new city regulation, Shenzhen requires dog owners to have their pets injected with chips, which is free, before October. From October, pet dogs without chips will be considered "unlicensed". By the end of this year, every pet dog in Shenzhen will be required to be implanted with a chip.
据《深圳市犬只电子标签植入管理规定（试行）》显示
养犬人应携带犬只前往犬只登记所在区指定的注射点注射芯片，注射芯片免费。10月份开始，未注射芯片将被视为无证养犬。（若未及时注射芯片，即使您的爱犬已经登记并持有犬证，也将被视为无证犬。）
年底前，深圳要实现系统登记犬只100%注射芯片。

▌Q: What’s this chip used for?
芯片有什么作用呢？
▌A: It’s like the digital ID card of the dog, which records dog's name and breed, as well as its owner's contact information and identity.
相当于狗狗的“电子身份证”，记录狗狗的信息，如狗狗的血统、主人信息等。
① It would be used to help determine ownership of dogs.
犬只丢失后，相关机构可以用专业设备识别犬只身份，帮助市民尽快找回丢失犬只。② It helps prevent the owner from abandoning the dog.
借助深圳市养犬管理服务综合平台，通过芯片能够精准实现犬只溯源管理，有效杜绝遗弃犬只行为。③ It helps track down the owners when there are disputes among the dogs.
发生涉犬纠纷时，能够杜绝犬主不承认犬只归属推脱责任的现象，有效减少犬只伤人和肇事等问题的发生率。④ Only microchipped dogs can go abroad or return to China.
犬只必须注射芯片方可出入境，为犬只注射芯片可为携犬出入境提前做好准备。

▌Q: Is it safe?
芯片安全吗？▌A: The chip is about the size of a grain of rice and would hardly have an impact on the animals' health, and the chip implantation needle is a little bigger than a normal vaccine needle, thus it is a bit more painful than a vaccine injection for pet dogs, experts say. Besides, it could last for 15 years.
给犬只植入的芯片大小如同一颗米粒（尺寸限制在14mm以内），注射在犬只的颈部右上侧皮下，芯片表面覆盖了与犬只体质相适应的材料，防滑离和防损伤，对犬只的健康几乎没有任何影响。芯片的使用有效期大约是15年。

▌Q: What do I need to bring to get the pet dog microchipped?
注射时需要带什么资料？
▌A: If you have the digital certificate of your dog, you only need to bring your ID card (passport).
If you don’t have the digital certificate of your dog, you need to bring the certificate of your dog as well as your ID card (passport). It is advised that you can apply the digital certificate online via the mini program on WeChat “深圳市养犬服务”.已办理电子犬证的，只需带身份证即可；
未申领电子犬证的，还需要携带养犬证，建议市民通过深圳市养犬服务小程序在线申领电子犬证。

Only dogs with a digital certificate that

② Check the information and click it if it’s right.
③ Click “预约” to proceed.
If you forget the number,
you can click “找回犬证” to check.
忘记犬证编号的用户，
可点击“找回犬证”查看养犬证编号信息。
You can click “养犬登记” to get the digital certificate.
未办理电子犬证的用户，
可点击“养犬登记”进行犬证办理。
Choose when & where to microchip
选择注射机构，预约日期、时间
Choose the district where you claim the certificate of your dog on the top left and you can scroll down the list to choose the place or you can directly search the name on the top.
Choose the date and time and then click
“确认预约 (appointment confirmed )” to proceed.
When you come to this page, it means you’ve completed the appointment. If you cannot make it, you can go to “我的预约” to cancel.
